Consolidate Typhoon Defense Barriers and Ensure Safe Flood Season Operation

Typhoon Dolphin, the 13th typhoon of this year, was predicted to directly impact the coastal areas of Taizhou and Wenzhou from August 9 to 10, bringing strong wind and heavy rainfall over a wide coverage and posing severe challenges for flood and typhoon prevention. Drawing on mature emergency response experience accumulated from defending against Typhoon Bavi earlier, Guangtian Electric completed all pre-defense preparations within half a day after receiving the typhoon warning, including material relocation, equipment rainproof protection, awning retraction and electrical facility protection.

The company set up a 16-member dedicated typhoon defense team for on-duty standby and uninterrupted factory patrols and hidden danger inspections. In view of the risk of rainwater backflow in key areas such as power distribution rooms and vapor phase drying equipment pits, on-duty staff conducted immediate drainage treatment, monitored water levels in real time and eliminated potential safety hazards in a timely manner. Thanks to the all-staff persistent efforts, the company successfully withstood the typhoon impact, achieving zero severe waterlogging and zero safety incidents in the factory area.

After the typhoon passed on August 11, all key waterlogging-prone areas, including power distribution rooms, equipment pits and test station cable trenches, were fully drained and cleaned before 12:00 noon. Based on the summary and review of this typhoon defense work, the company has fixed drainage pumps at three water-prone locations and implemented anti-seepage renovation for low-lying areas. The optimized layout enables rapid emergency drainage in extreme rainfall weather and further consolidates the factory’s long-term flood and typhoon defense system.
